It was such a joy to photograph Peter and Kara! Peter surprised Kara on their first anniversary by traveling up from college to pop the question. The surprise was a successful and joyous one!
As Peter and Kara called friends and family to share their news, I became a member of that list. They booked a shoot for the following Sunday afternoon. I give Peter a lot of credit for thinking to have engagement photos taken while he was in town and while we were experiencing beautiful fall weather. I love the gleeful excitement that both Peter and Kara radiate in this shoot. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite images.

This post features two golden-hour timed sessions with one adorable couple. Yes, they got a bit of preferential treatment. Tim is a photographer and my brother-in-law-to-be, making his photogenic fiance my sister. :) Our first location was chosen because it is the park where Tim proposed. The second is Cantigny in Wheaton. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite shots.

Brandon and Annemarie were great to work with. They were comfortable in front of the camera, and easy to direct whether they were sitting posed, chasing geese, or climbing in rushes. We had a very relaxed shoot and were rewarded at the end of the day with a beautiful sunset. Here are a few of my favorite shots:

I was privileged to shoot engagement photos for my wedding photographer friends Rich and Leeann! We had a great time on a beautiful piece of historical property. A few months later, I was rewarded by getting to see my images printed and hanging literally everywhere at their wedding!

I had the honor of shooting a few impromptu shots of Jordan and Rachel the weekend of their engagement. Jordan is from out-of-state, so there were few opportunities for photo shoots. I was thrilled to have one of these images included in their wedding invitations!
